High Ground Hitters

Race:  High Elf
Coach:  chgadd
Description
The "Hitters" are the Elven Kingdom Esari's Bloodbowl team. They belong to the noble elite and train and play in the finest arenas. With their helmets pointing high and with a slightly superior look, they look down on their surroundings with contempt. They are trained by Prince Parodia Highlight who really only knows how to put on the armor in the most fashionable way. But if they lose, it's "only" because the opposition got lucky. "EVERYONE" knows that High Ground Hitters are the best. Their motto - Win in style, loose with fashion!

What happened just now?
High Ground Hitters flexed their muscles and prepared to be run over.
But all of a sudden a vampire chose to hit himself. And that sat the tone of the match. Vampires trying but not really getting it right.
Yes many players were hypnotized but no worse than they could get out of the gaze and play ball.
Wendelor Lastsoul got hold of the ball ran for dear life and in little more than halfway thru the first half 1-0 was a fact.

For the rest of the half, Eternal Arrghs tried to equalize but again they went for it and couldn't quite get it. They stumbled, fumbled and fell so High Ground Hitters held their ground.
And at the second halfs kick off Mellerin Deeprun went naughty and started his run early so that he stood where the ball likely would land.
What looked like a safe ball pickup suddenly had became a risky maneuver. Suddenly you say, yea a vampire "chose" to fail his block and High Ground Hitters didn´t wait to get in on the action.
A blitz, a pick up and a hand off to Mellerin Deeprun (who cheated at the kickoff) in a tacklezone. Then a dodge and two run for it made it 2-0 in turn 1 in second half.

But Eternal Arrghs hadn´t given up yet. A fast TD gave the match an edge. But in the next drive Hitters managed to hold them off yet again.
Not so much by strategic smartness, but when they were able to cas a Dirk Chivers it seemed to be to tough for Eternal Arrghs win the ball and tie the score.
The fresh"man" Heraldur were protected and a failed rush by a vampirerunner did that he could jog in 3-1.
The win of the season!
